Bio

-- 45+ years success producing programs of value in public and private education for both children and adults.
-- I help woodworkers navigate a smooth path through this "business" of advanced woodwork manufacturing.
-- I demonstrate the art of negotiating without giving in.
-- I'm committed to the integrity of fine construction professionals.

After a number of years as a Manufacturing Member I was recruited to AWI National in 1987 as a member of the professional staff, I've provided technical support to the AWI, design professionals, and construction industry. An enthusiastic speaker, I enjoy presenting training and information to varied audiences at international gatherings, national conventions, regional meetings, chapter events, and individual offices.

From 1991 to 2007 I was honored to serve as editor for the 6th, 7th, and 8th editions of the AWI Quality Standards Illustrated, moving them from cut-and-paste, type-set proofs to desktop-published books with electronic versions. I've been instrumental in the improvement of the AWI Cost of Doing Business Report and the updating of the AWI Cost Book estimating system, and Chapter Leadership training. The Design Pro Presentations, prepared for the use of AWI members, have won praise from coast-to-coast. I edited/published the first e-books for AWI.

In 2007, I joined some colleagues in the advanced wood manufacturing industry to found the Woodwork Career Alliance of North America for the establishment of skill standards, evaluations, and credentials. I serve as Secretary of WCA, and content validation editor for the Skill Standards.

2010 and beyond I have promoted the Speakers Bureau, and cloud computing at the Architectural Woodwork Institute, including the rise of AWI Webinars as effective distance learning, largely produced at the AWI office.

Over the years I have delivered programs to thousands of construction industry professionals and educators on architectural woodwork, the Quality Standards and the specification and use of wood, nature’s gift to man.

Specialties:-- Recognized authority on national standards for wood and wood products used in fine woodworking, furniture, and fixtures.
-- Author, editor, videographer, and publisher: Adobe & Apple Professional Applications.
-- Talented and enthusiastic trainer and public speaker.
